Immigration changes from over the years because when there is either a war or no work where a person lives, it causes people to leave and immigrate to somewhere where there are job opportunities. People tend to stay where they are if there is work for them or taxes are low, so it causes people to sto migrating and puts the immigrant % down
They wanted their own country. The wanted the Confederacy of America. The UNion didn't. Also, the Union didn't think that slavery was all too hot.
Because Abraham Lincoln abolished slavery and the south wanted slavery, so the only way to do that was to leave the USA and become their own country.
