His first Vice President during his first term was George Clinton from 1809 to1812. George Clinton died in 1912, and Madison went without a Vice President for the rest of the term. His second Vice President during his second term was Elbridge Gerry from 1813 to 1814. Vice President Elbridge Gerry died in 1914 and Madison went without a Vice President for the rest of his Presidency.
