The blockade of British ports was part of the Continental System put in place by Napoleon in retaliation for the British naval blockade of the coastlines in France. The result of the blockade of British ports was not severe or long-lasting. It hurt Britain to a small degree, but not as much as Napoleon hoped.
I believe it was a blockade that the U.S. put up in front of Cuba to prevent the soviet union from going into there. ......I think.
JFK found out that the Russians had installed missiles on Cuba. With Cuba only 90 miles from US shores he told the Russians they had to remove the missiles and they refused, so he put a naval blockade on the island. For 3 days we thought there might be a nuclear war between the United States and Russia, but the Russians backed down and removed the missiles. An interesting point to this is the Russian ships still dock in Cuba and their connections with Cuba are still strong.

The country that placed a blockage on Berlin was the Soviet Union. The move was called the Berlin Blockade and it was put in place June 24, 1948. It ended on May 12, 1949.
The Western powers airlifted supplies to Berlin, until the Soviets ended the blockade in 1949.
