The conflict mainly started due to Britain navies destroying U.S ships and/or trying block off trade. Eventually the Native Americans(most, but not all) sided with Britain in hopes that they would regain their once lost land. At the time, Britain had mainly established in present day Canada, so the war started out along those borders. Later on, Britain was winning the war, even to the point of capturing D.C!! The war was ended with the treaty of Ghent.
