In chapter 10 of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (book 5), the train takes the students to Hogwarts, and the students shuffle out.As Harry approaches the usually horseless carriages that bring the students up the castle, he realizes that they are being pulled by emaciated, winged, horse-like creatures (Thestrals).Harry asks Ron about the horse creatures, but Ron doesn't see them. Luna tells Harry that she can see them, too, and has been able to since her first year at Hogwarts.The Thestrals were also the creatures that took Harry and his friends to London.
It was Tonks transformed into an old woman, Mad eye moody and the guy that didn't turn up because he had been arested for braking into the ministry of magic because he was under the imperius curse
