Well most of the crimes back in that time where very harsh though the government still tries to enforce the whole eye for an eye thing most of the crimes have not survived that time era because of their harsh qualities.
Crime is more of a problem today because in roman times it was punishable by death so less people commited any crimes, where as today people dont realy care if they commit a crime because they know they will get away with it.
Murder, theft... basicly crimes today. Oh, except for the fact you could get exicuted for treason against the crown.
It was not so much the crime that got one crucified, it was the status of the person. Crucifixion was a means of execution for slaves and non-citizens and the army. It was humiliating and degrading and was meant to set an example for the consequences of wrongdoing as were most Roman methods of execution. However there was no particular list of crimes that would be penalized by crucifixion. If a citizen were convicted of say, theft, he would be fined and perhaps have to work to pay restitution. But if a slave were convicted of the same thing, he could be crucified. The army had the power to use crucifixion in extreme cases. Now even though a man had to be a Roman citizen to join the army, he in fact, gave up his rights of citizenship by swearing his military oath.
Pretty much exactly the same crimes there are today - although they might have called them something else (Cattle rustling - horse stealing - stagecoach robbery - etc). As far as crime goes there is nothing new (or old) that is different.
No, nothing that Moses did, was considered a war crime at his time. In today's society, probably to swipe out an entire nation could be considered a war crime. But as we know there are no real laws in wars. Crimes as justified in order to obtain a higher good. US brought peace to the world by exterminating two islands during the second world war. Moses, ordered the elimination of evil nations ordered by God, to bring up a holy nation in their place. At least, that seemed to be the purpose. Israel was supposed to be much better than all the nations they took away.
Punishment for crimes was generally more severe in the 17th century than it is today. Stealing, for instance, could land a person in prison for 15 years. Murder was almost followed by an almost immediate hanging.
Crimes in ancient Rome were pretty much the same as present day crime with the exception of computer crime. Treason, murder, arson and forgery were the most serious. These were followed by theft, assault, property damage, and impiety towards the gods.
the same crimes to see and hear about today, the only difference is the method.
His crime is now what is known as today: terrorism.
All of the same types of daily crime as today, pick pockets were prevalent. Murder, burglary, house breaking, prostitution, embezzlement , you name it they did it, just like today. The only real difference is that the punishments were harsher.

Cyber crimes are increasing drastically because the criminals are figuring out ways to infiltrate files that they could not access before. The computer age is just not keeping up with the technology that is out there today.
