The curriculum levels for a year eight range vastly. For example, some year eights get level fours and very few get level eights. But really, a year 8 child should be aiming for these levels (minimum) as this is what the government expects from year 8s:
Maths: 5b/5a
English: 5b/5a
Science: 5b/5a
Geography: 5b/5a
History:5b/5a
RE:5b
PE: 4a/5c
ICT: 5c
DT: 5c
FT: 5c
Art: 5c
Many kids in year eight attain much higher than these levels though and some people even attain level sevens and eights.
It's nice to know the government has faith in year eight students, isn't it?
Hope this helps!
