yepp it sure can I just got a shiny latias lvl 100 on the GTS and gave it EV resetting berries to check if it's hacked then without saving I turned off the game. When I turned it back on, the previous file got corrupted so it reverted to an older file. Not all hacked Pokemon corrupt files, some are more dangerous than others and some are harmless. The one I got was minor.

Yes you can clone Pokemon but it requires Action Replay ( or any other cheat code thing) it can corrupt your game and the second save file. Hope this helped :3

well i had this problem once. if its on the emulator u have 2 make a copy of the Pokemon pearl or diamond file and paste it in the battery file that is created when u downloaded the vba file. then save ur game and restart it and ur file will be saved.
