The prom dress, as a concept, doesn't have a specific inventor but rather evolved over time as part of American high school culture. The tradition of prom began in the early 20th century, with formal dances for graduating students, which led to the creation of special attire for the occasion. Designers and fashion trends influenced the styles of prom dresses throughout the decades, making them a reflection of contemporary fashion rather than the creation of a single individual.
A Junior Prom is traditionally held for students completing the 11th grade; their junior years. A Senior Porm is on completion of High school (Senior) education. 'Prom' is short for promenade which, among it's many definitions, is the opening position for formal dances where a line of ladies and gentlemen paraded down the length of the dance hall opposite each other.

Young witnesses are discouraged from attending school dances such as the prom because of the extra association with those who may not share their views on morality and bible principles. It would be up to the parents and if they defer, it would be up to the young witness.
