The ANZACs landed at Anzac Cove on 25 April 1915. This is the date now commemorated as Anzac Day in Australia and New Zealand.

Because that was where the ANZACs (Australian & New Zealand Army Corps) landed on the 25th of April, 1915. They held that land for eight months and lost about 10,000 men.
The ANZACs were supposed to land on Cape Tepe but ended up landing on what was later known as ANZAC Cove, two kilometres North of the intended landing place.
No, they were actually supposed to land a mile north on a stretch of flat area codenamed Brighton Beach. The Turks suspected they would do this and had the beach well fortified. But the strong currents of the Aegean Sea dragged the boats a mile north in the darkness and the Anzacs found themselves landing in a small cove surrounded by enormous heights. This caused much confusion among both forces.

They were supposed to land on a stretch of low-land codenamed "Brighton Beach". But the strong currents of the Aegean Sea pushed them northward in the night and they instead came ashore in a tiny cove. Brighton Beach, as an objective, was a good plan. There was plenty of resistance, but once they were ashore the troops could have easily swept to the Dardanelles.
The first landing of Australian troops at what later became known as Anzac Cove was on 25 April 1915. They continued to land for several more months after that, as it was eight months before the ANZAC forces withdrew.
