Christchurch has had over 9,000 earthquakes and aftershocks since the very first one on 4 September 2010. That one happened at 4:35am on a Saturday morning. The worst one was 22 Feb 2011 when 182 people died, most of them crushed under buildings that collapsed. That earthquake struck just after mid-day at 12:55pm. It was a Tuesday.
