Caliphs. Shia and sunni have mainly conflict on Imamat (leadership). shia say Imamat is one of 5 pillars of Islam and only God can select leader for people. Sunnis say Imamat is not part of Islam and leader can be selected by people by any method like shura (a kind of democracy)

The Shi'a and the Sunnis are living peacefully under the same political systems in many countries. Religiously, the Shi'as believe in the idea of Imamat but the Sunnis don't deem it necessary. They believe in Caliphate.
