It was a Friday. This was the start of one of the biggest rock festivals in history. Estimates of 160,000 to 380,000 people arrived at Sedalia,Missouri to the Ozark Music Festival.
Advertised in Rolling Stone Magazine with a full page add and on the Midnight Special TV program . Featured were Wolf Man Jack,Eagles,Areosmith,REO Speedwagon and over 20 other bands.
The festival was another Woodstock amplified. Ozark Music Festival (OMF) located at the Missouri State Fair Grounds (60 acres) that overflowed and basically turned a town of 20,000 people into one large concert festivity.
The (OMF) was wide open do anything three to four days of music,drugs,sex,and freedom to do do just about anything.
Ozark Music Festival was the largest and last festival of its kind in the United States.
