IF YOU TAKE A LOOK AROUND THE MAJORS, THERE ARE POWER HITTERS AT ALL POSITIONS, AND YOUNG POWER HITTING PITCHERS IN HIGH SCHOOL OR COLLEGE ARE USUALLY COAXED INTO LEARNING A FIELDING POSITION, THERE USUALLY IS NO BEST SUITED POSITION. Although nowadays there are players with power at all positions, typically your power hitters are found at first base and in the outfield (and to a lesser extent, third base). The reasoning, I guess, is that these are the least difficult defensive positions to play, so your top hitters tend to get put there in order to allow them to concentrate more fully on their hitting.
