Depends on the lamp and bulb if you are referring to temperature. Directly related to energy wasted as heat and not converted to lumens. The element or filament has a higher resistance and displaces heat. Inefficient unless heat is your goal as with a heat lamp.

If you are referring to degrees of diffusion; that depends on the bulb or the shades diameter, the shades reflectivity and distance of the light source to the end of the shade.

The ceiling in jans living room is 2.5 m high she has a hanging lamp that hangs down husband is exactly 2 m tall will he hit his head on the hanging lamp why or why not?

It is impossible to say without knowing how long the lamp cord is. It also depends on what furniture is under the lamp: if there is a large coffee table directly under the lamp, for example, the husband is not going to be standing under the lamp!

Why can't you operate a lava lamp on a glass surface?

Glass melts at between 900 degrees F and 1650 degrees F while the lamp operates at an estimated 100-130 degrees F, however, differential temperature changes, especially rapid changes in temperature may cause a glass surface to crack. The lamp is made of glass, and the bottom of the lamp usually has a felt pad, so there is no mechanical reason why the lamp may not be used on a glass surface except it may slip, and the manufacturer's instructions specifically state DO NOT operate the lamp on glass surfaces.
