The US is not a Democracy and no democracy is good for the US.
You can research this some more at: www.cashdrag.com/republicmagazine.html
In a democracy.. 51% of the people can tell the other 49% how things are going to be.. and if you don't agree.. well to bad..
That is not how America is supposed to be ran.
The US is a Republic and democracy should have no part in a Republic for the people.
People have been fooled for years into thinking that Democracy is what America has as a government. That is not the case, but they still run it like it's a democracy, simply because the people have not stood up against it. This is how they slowly take away your Liberty and Freedoms as Americans.
If you recall the Pledge of Allegiance... it states:
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.
That is a question of opinion so there is no right or wrong answer. :)
No, the US has a representative democracy.

democracy
Yes if the government do everything for population to live life normal, but in most cases are not a lot of country have democracy just on him but not for real serious politic.
would it be better for the United States to have a direct democracy
no
The US government is a republic, and a representative democracy.
Citizens elect leaders who vote on the issues in a representative democracy, and citizens vote on the issues in a direct democracy. A representative democracy is modern, and a direct democracy is ancient. A representative democracy works better in large groups, and a direct democracy works better in small groups. Citizens' desires are ignored in a representative democracy, and citizens' desires have a better chance of being heard in a direct democracy
Representative. We vote for people to represent us.
It is neither. The US is a democratic republic, a republic with a bit of democracy.
A limited franchise democracy called a representative democracy.
