Raising steam up high would be a long skinny one because it's taller, but raising more steam would be a short fat one... :)

Edit: Sorry, should have said, these hypothetical boilers are horizontal, saturated-steam fire-tube boilers driving two simple-expansion (i.e. not compound) cylinders. In other words, a steam locopmotive! Not vertical boilers.
