Bill designs were similar to those used up until 1996. I couldn't find any images on the BEP website from the 1940s, but I've posted a $5, $10, and $20 image from the 1970s that are essentially the same.
If you want to see coin images, I'd suggest looking at www.coinfacts.com; there are pictures of coins from many years in addition to 1941.

The date looks almost like "19412", with the 1 and 2 squashed together. Check the image at the Related Link. The overdate is fairly clear but it may help to use the zoom tool on your browser to expand the picture a bit.
The Japanese yen is the official currency of Japan. Some of the coins have holes in the middle and the paper currency looks similar to American currency with pictures of Japanese political figures on it.
Rupiah is Indonesian currency.
Try googling "florin". That was their standard currency back then...

It's 1 GPB or 1 Pound. For US Currency you would have to look at the current exchange rates.
