Cleopatra favorited the fig (type of fruit)
No one knows, but I'm guessing rich and valuable meals!Hope this helped
It is said that Cleopatra favored camel hoofs as a food. How they were prepared is a mystery--at least to me.
Cleopatra ate grapes, dates, nuts, figs, olives, pomegranates, fish, bread, honey, cheese, and meats such as wild boar, pigeon, quail, beef.
When Cleopatra visited the Romans, some say she ate small roasted Songbirds arranged quite beautifully with asparagus tips and spotted quail eggs, cooked in their shells. Red grapes were piled in the center of the table surrounded with plates of figs and large green olives.
When Cleopatra ate dinner in bed she often had leek soup, freshly cooked duck eggs and bread for dipping. Servants bought little cakes for snacking on, along with some bread (even though the royal baker delivers fresh loaves of bread twice a day).
She also drank wine (to worship their wine God) and beer.
She is also said to have liked an exotic dish made of camel hooves. Unfortunately the recipe/method of preparing has been lost.
Hollywood would have us believe that Egyptian nobility and royalty ate lavishly, but that is not the case. Almost all through Egypt's history even a rich Egyptian's diet would be largely vegetarian with bread and beer being the staple during the daytime. Beer in those days was not the clear, filtered liquid it is now. It was rich in barley and contained solids, so it was more of a beer-based soup. For the rich like Cleopatra, the bread would come in several varieties and could be spiced with honey or dried fruits.
At night, the somewhat better-off Egyptians might add fresh fruit and (a few times a week at best) some meat like chicken to their daytime diet. A Queen like Cleopatra would get beef next to her bread and fruit, but also in moderate quantity. You would expect a people like the Egyptians, living as they were right next to a big river, to be big fish-eaters, but isotope-measuring in mummies (who were all members of the well-off group) show that although Egyptians did catch them, even the well-off did not actually eat much fish.
