The Last Supper = the last meal Jesus ate with his disciples was when Jesus was 33. The chronology is disputed, it might have been somewhere between 7 BC and 7 AD. So much for your question. But maybe you do not mean what you write. Maybe you want to know when the painting representing that Last Supper was painted. This is also difficult to answer, because this subject has been painted by hundreds of artists from the 3rd to the 20th centuries. So, maybe you believe that Leonardo da Vinci's painting 'The Last Supper' is the only one. That is a mistake. Anyway it was painted 1495-1497.
I think you mean Il Cenacolo of L'Ultima Cena by Leonardo da Vinci -or the last supper, in English
For purely cultural reasons. Some call it the last meal, for instance. To some, "dinner" and "supper" mean the same meal, for others they have both a dinner and a supper everyday, for instance on a farm: breakfast in the morning, then lunch, then dinner, then after the last work of the day, supper.
If by 'author' you mean main character, then that was Jesus. His Father and He decided the details of His 3.5 year and 4 Passover Ministry long before it actually was.
In Luke 22 Judas Betrays Jesus before the last supper. Durer did more than one image of the Last Supper, and at least one of them has 12 apostles in it. I think that I found the one you mean... a horizontal version that seems to be a picture of after Judas Iscariot left the meal. Addition: The reference to Luke 22 is misleading: In Luke 22:21 Jesus says:'Behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table'. And as the question implies, the custom is to portray 12 apostles in paintings of the 'Last Supper'. But it is true that Dürer includes only 11 apostles in the woodcut of 1523.
If you mean the last supper in the bible, then it depends on what religion you are. For example, I'm a person who is a Christian and is gospel. So, I believe it is true and it is a historical event in my religion. But if you have another religion, like atheists or muslim or any type of other religions(not including any other types of Christian branches) don't believe in Jesus so you can say they think that the last supper is a fairy tale.
Do you mean 'holy communion'? That is when you remember the last supper that Jesus had with his diciples. You eat bread to remember Jesus' body (he gave his diciples this too) and you also drink wine to remember his blood (although usually it is a wine substitute). Jesus also gave his diciples the wine.
No, it is not, if you mean the one by Leonardo. There are several hundred others..
If you mean Leonardo Da Vinci's painting, it is priceless.
If you mean the sacrament of the Lord's Supper, then it was on the night Jesus was betrayed as He and the disciples celebrated the Passover feast.
wine is represents the blood of Jesus, the bread is his body and it represents Jesus.
Catholic AnswerOur Blessed Lord instituted the Most Holy Eucharist at the Last Supper on Holy Thursday, the night before He gave His life for us on Calvary. from Pocket Catholic Dictionary by John A. Hardon, S.J., Doubleday c 1980, 1985Eucharist. The true Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, who is really and substantially present under the appearances of bread and wine, in order to offer himself in the sacrifice of the Mass and to be received as spiritual food in Holy Communion. It is called Eucharist, or "thanksgiving", because at its institution at the Last Supper Christ "gave thanks," and by this fact it is the supreme object and act of Christian gratitude to God.Although the same name is used, the Eucharist is any one or all three aspects of one mystery, namely the Real Presence, the Sacrifice, and Communion. As Real Presence, the Eucharist is Christ in His abiding action of High Priest, continuing now to communicate the graces He merited on Calvary; and as Communion, it is Christ coming to enlighten and strengthen the believer by nourishing his soul for eternal life.
