Pullman Village existed on the far southeast side of Chicago where the Pullman factory made Pullman railway cars. In Pullman Village, employees lived in company provided housing, shopped at company provided stores, and their children went to school in company provided schools. What buildings remain are part of a historical preservation. Some would consider it a Utopia. Others saw it as a labor ghetto designed to control the free will of workers at Pullman's Plant.
