President Lincoln had many achievements which were positive in addition to stopping slavery. Some of those achievements were keeping the country from splitting during the Civil War, he supported the Homestead Act which enabled the poor to go West and claim land, and he signed a bill for the first transcontinental railroad.
The qualities that made Abraham Lincoln a good president were his compassion, humility and determination. 'Abe' is admired for recognizing that black and white people are equal and for stopping slavery.

Lincoln thought that slavery should be abolished for good, while on the other hand, Douglas wanted it to contiune.:)
Lincoln abolished slavery and kept the country together. He also told people that slavery did not fit with the ideas of the Declaration Of Independence.
He signed the Emancipation proclamation, ending slavery in the US for good.
He served the country and went against slavery.
I don't really know much except for slavery and the fact that abe lincoln was president. Well, that isn't all the detail. Good try though. The thing is, that the north did not want slavery and the south, [ known as rebels] want slavery to keep going. So, the north and south got into a BIG fight about slavery, so that's what started the Civil war. PS: Abraham Lincoln was on the north side. He did not like slavery. [ Im only in 5th grade I I wrote this myself!!] Good Bye!! Hope this helped!
Abraham Lincoln did not believe in popular sovereignty, he thought slavery was morally wrong.
In the period before and during the US Civil War , a person who wanted to end slavery was called an Abolitionist - because he or she was in favor of the abolition of slavery. A good example of an abolitionist is Abraham Lincoln in America, but in England, William Wilberforce was one of the major abolitionists.Although Lincoln was personally against slavery he was not an abolitionist. An abolitionist wanted to end slavery all at once as an of the government. Lincoln saw no solution to the slavery problem and worked for keeping the UNion whole as his priority.

Slavery is not good. It involves treating people as property, stripping them of their basic human rights and dignity. It is a gross violation of human rights and has no place in a just and equitable society.
he stopped slavery and brought the country together as one nation.
