Well, he and his brothers were discovered by Gladys Knight in 1968 and were known as the Jackson 5. But Michael himself was not discovered as a solo artist until he released his first solo album Off The Wall in 1979.

∙ 15y agoWell, it was actually his father who made a band, but would'nt let Michael be in it, because he was too small. But after some time he saw how talentet he was and it became "The Jackson 5" =D
