They conquered Makka and the holy Propher (MPBUH) announced general amnesty. He forgave even the enemies who had tortured him and his followers.

From what I remember, he spoke to people in the city he lived in, which I think was Mecca. At first, most of the people of Mecca rejected Muhammad, but then he returned years later, and the city believed in him.

Muhammad is the followers of a man religion. This is where the whole city of Mecca prays.
He forgave the people for trying to destroy his message. Then he destroyed all the idols which had been set-up around the House of Abraham ( the Kaaba ) and established Islam as the religion of Arabia.
Muhammad was the prophet, he was meditating in a cave outside of Mecca when a voice called to him. This voice was believed to be Allah (the one god of Islam). This religion was not allowed in Mecca for fear the monotheistic religion (belief in only one god) would cause citizens to lose respect for traditional Arab gods. Due to this he and his early followers moved to Medina where the religion was accepted and her gained more followers. Later Muhammad and 10,000 of his followers returned to Mecca and took over. Mecca became known as the location of Islam.
Muhammad returned to Mecca in 622 AD. Muhammad is said to be the last prophet of God in the Islamic religions.

People of Mecca surrendered to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his followers without fighting. Although Muslims suffered from the oppression of the disbelievers of Mecca and although when the prophet and his followers immigrated from Mecca they left behind their money and properties. Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) forgave all of them, destroyed all the idols around Kaaba, and returned to Medina with his followers without causing any harm or damage to people of Mecca or to their properties.
