It happened at the creation of Nato where the 12 founding countries promised to help each other in case of war.
a promise
NATO (the North Atlantic Treatise Organisation) is a collection of countries, mainly Britain and the U.S., that agreed to help each other against communism and terrorism.
NATO was a joint force that could operate together. Before, countries were just "allies" so there was no official group with commitements. NATO established countries willing to back each other in case of conflict, adding to security.
The basic term of the NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) called for the countries involved to help each other out, should there be another attack like that of World War II. NATO encompasses the entire North American continent and several countries in Europe.
North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)
Well yes and no. NATO was formed after WWII as an alliance against communist agression of countries in Europe that considered themselves allies of the United states. The communists formed the Warsaw Pact which was the communist countries that condidered themselves aligned with Russia to protect themselves from aggression by the west. So they are not really for or against each other. It is more like they have agreed to disagree and keep a close eye on each other.

NATO doesn't really have a job, it's a defend and military alliance. The most important point with it, is that they build up and use the members army, another point is that if a country attacks a NATO- country, it's like attacking ALL the NATO-countries.

To keep the the Cold War from becoming a hot one and to provide services to the poorest countries so they wouldn’t need to attack each other to gain resources or aide.
I'm not sure what you are asking, but Greece and England have nothing to do with each other. I think the person that asked this question is looking for the similarities between Greece and England. Well they are both in Europe, EU, and NATO. Both countries have the colour white in their flags and a cross on both flags. Both countries have good food. ...Well, I ship it.
