Noah took his family. His family was made up of his wife; his three sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth; and his daughters-in-law.
And a lot more animals than you would think: GEN7:2 Of every clean beast (tahor) he took seven, the male and his female: and of unclean beasts (tamei) he took two, the male and his female. GEN 7:3 Of fowls also of the air he took seven, the male and his female.
Tahor = pure or kosher. Tamei = impure or non-kosher aka asur = forbidden.
But there were some limits:
In Genesis 7:14 They had with them every wild animal according to its kind, all livestock according to their kinds, every creature that moves along the ground according to its kind and every bird according to its kind, everything with wings.
This allows for the inclusion of flying non-birds e.g. bats and pterodactyls, but excludes fishes, whales and seals, and, potentially, burrowing animals (moles), arboreal animals (sloths). The fate of otters and hippopotami as they are primarily aquatic and occassionally "move along the ground" is unknown
His wife and his three sons and their wives. Noah's three sons were Shem, Ham and Japheth. See Genesis 7:13.
him, his wife, his three sons and their wives.
a pair of every animal you can think of, except the unicorn (lol)
