Diane Fossey is the scientist you are thinking of. Check here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dian_Fossey. The movie "Gorillas in the Mist" was about her.
On June 9, 2001, Protais Zigiranyirazo, the former Governor of the Ruhengeri province in Rwanda and one of the country's most wanted criminals for his creation of death squads, which killed 800,000 in 1994, was arrested on genocidal murder. Zigiranyirazo murdered Dian because she had found out that he was the ringleader behind the poaching and endangered species smuggling ring, and she was going to turn him in to the authorities.Wayne McGuire, a research worker, found the body of Dian Fossey on the morning of December 27, 1985. McGuire found that Dian's metal sheeting to her cabin was cut open. The opening allowed the murderer to gain access to Dian's bedroom. McGuire also found Dian's gun, unloaded, but with the bullets on the floor of her bedroom. Dian was killed by a machete. The machete actually split her skull and face open. Dian's frightened expression was frozen on her face.
Diane Fossey was murdered by Protais Zigiranyirazo. He was the former Governor of Ruhengeri province in Rwanda. He killed Diane because she found out that he was the leader of the poaching and endangered species smuggling ring and she was going to turn them in. So that's why he killed her. While it is considered very possible that Protais Zigiranyirazo ordered Dian killed, to date, who actually did kill her has never been proven. And as "Mr. Z" was released from prison after only serving 8 1/2 years (for the genocide of 800,000 people) it is very doubtful that Dian's murder will ever be solved.
Dian Fossey was buried in the gorilla cemetery she set up near her house in Africa because many gorillas were dieing now she is resting in peace with her beloved gorillas. I am not a follower of any religion if you are wondering
She was not killed, or murdered. She did spend her life w/ chimpanzees, but they didn't kill her! She is still living today. Today, she is making sure that animals are being treated humanely in both wild habitats and in captivity. SHE IS STILL ALIVE!I have done many biographies and reports on Jane Goodall and I know all about her. I know for a fact that she is STILL LIVING! So who ever is saying that she was murdered by chimpanzees has not done their homework. The chimpanzees loved her as much as she loved them. You are probably getting mixed up with Dian Fossey.
Go on hard mode and kill Dian Wei twice, although it doesn't matter to kill the supply troops, it will help.
