Rosa Parks was an African American activist that was born the 4th of February of 1913. We commemorate the 'Rosa Parks Day' every 1st of December because that same day in 1955 she was arrested for her refusal to give up her seat in favor of a white passenger. This was just one of the many acts of civil disobedience against segregation laws she realized, contributing greatly to the fight for Civil Rights. She is called "The Mother of the Freedom Movement" by the US Congress.
