I think it was the Louisiana Purchase but not 100% sure. Going to check it out now.

Checked it out: On April 3, 1803, the US purchased a territory of the western US extending from the Mississippi River to the Rocky Mountains between the Gulf of Mexico and the Canadian border. It cost $15 million.
