Thomas Jefferson was an American patriot. He wrote the Declaration of Independence. After independence was declared, he went to France to drum up support for the American cause. Later, he served as the third US President.
He wrote a booklet called Common Sense, which influenced many neutral colonists to take the side of the patriots. With more patriots, many farmers and boys 14 years and older, they had more soldiers including ones the French sent over and Dutch banks loaning us money. With those soldiers, we outnumbered the British and launched a surprise attack. As you can tell, Thomas Paine had a huge affect on the Revolutionary War.
He emigrated to Philadelphia, PA in November 1774.
