Victuals on board Tudor ships, whether they were merchantmen or naval warships, included salted fish, salt pork, rice (imported from Italy), plain biscuit, dried fruit, bread, wine and brandy.
Huge quantities of fresh water were also carried in huge barrels- although it would have been possible to distil fresh water from seawater by boiling it, the risk of fire from the boiling process was considered to be too great. It was only done in emergencies, when vessels had been at sea for longer than expected and their water supply had run out.

Tudors only eat fresh foods since there are no storages during their time. They kept and took care of their animals, then, slaughter just when they need to eat it.
