The US made them surrender unconditionally. It was accomplished by atomic bombs being use on two major cities.

NO. The US and Japan have been at peace since 1945. Japan actually hosts a number of US military bases and the US is the key defense force protecting Japan from possible foreign invasions.

Japan is limited by it's post WW2 constitution (as required by the US); Japan does NOT have a military. Japan has a SELF DEFENSE FORCE. They are no longer allowed to fight wars; war is out-lawed. Japan has the right to defend themselves; hence...the Self Defense Force.
Tag Force 6 is (unfortunately) currently not available in the US; for now, only in Japan.

The US stopped Japans isolation in the 1800's by direct military action. The new Japanese government then went about westernising Japan. Ironically US intervention in 1800's Japan, lead to WWII.
