I think Churchill is probably unparalled in speechmaking. The original master of the Soundbite. His ability to galvanise public opinion in the time of great crises, to judge the mood of the Nation & its people, and to be the author of great works of political writing are among the greatest of any leader in History. (& I am not even a fan of Churchill politically !) But as a Wartime Leader of a Nation he is un rivalled.

Before and during World War II (then even after), Winston Churchill became a great leader, and remained one, by hard work and practice as well as through the use of his natural talents. Born into a political family, Churchill studied the lives of great leaders, sought out leadership positions, enthusiastically took on challenges and developed a creative sense of problem-solving, and much more, both as a young man and then throughout his life.
