There were many types of raptors, and some were actually omnivores. However, the most carnivorous group of raptors, the Dromaeosaurids, probably hunted in packs to bring down dinosaurs even larger than themselves. The famous "Velociraptor vs. Protoceratops" fossil is an amazing example of this. A Velociraptor and Protoceratops were killed during a fight, and then fossilized. Velociraptor were about 33 pounds, and Protoceratops were about 300. That means that Velociraptor brought down prey 9 times their size! Other raptors are speculated to have hunted large dinosaurs, such as Edmontosaurus or even Triceratops, however there is no conclusive evidence of this behavior.

∙ 11y agoThere were different species of raptors with different diets. If you are referring to Velociraptor, they were opportunistic carnivores that ate small mammals, reptiles, etc. and also scavenged. In addition, they even hunted Protoceratops.
