He is a small, semi-privileged man with a very short temper and something of an inferiority complex. He used to be a lightweight fighter, and it seems he's always itching for a scuffle, as though it were his opportunity to prove himself on the ranch among other bigger, better men.

In "Of Mice and Men," Curley is described as a young man who is short, stocky, and has a combative personality. He often wears high-heeled boots to compensate for his small stature and is quick to pick fights with others on the ranch. Additionally, he is described as having a volatile and aggressive demeanor.

Curley is a stout man being only around 5'2. He is a small tough guy, who hates big men. He has a strong build but a horrible temper. He is not a likable man, and likes to start trouble. He usually wears fitting clothing making him seem larger. He wears a glove on his left hand, and has his sleeves rolled up which reveals his muscles. He doesn't move his face much when he talks but keeps his lips tight and small. He has a louder voice making every time he talks sound like he's yelling. When he gets angry he starts to point his fingers in their face and use foul language. He pulls back his chest and curls his hands into fists.
