The military officer or political leader in the French and Indian war.
George Washington
George Washington
Colonists and in particular, George Washington who served as a captain, gained valuable leadership and military skills that would enable him to become a successful general in the American Revolutionary War. The French and Indian Wars were his first military experiences.
It was North America
George Washington was in two wars. The French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War. He was only a field grade officer during the French and Indian War. He tried to become an officer in the British Army. However, he got denied. Then when America started to pull away from Britian, George Washington declared his alligence to America and its cause. The people declared him the commanding general of the Continental Army. He then went on to fight and lead the army in the Revolutionary War.
1763-1867
It was North America
Because after the French and Indian war, when the French lost they seceded their territory to Great Britain
Pondicherry became a Union Territory in 1962 through the Fourteenth Amendment of the Indian Constitution. It was formerly a French colony until it was integrated into the Indian Union in 1954.
Washington wasn't defeated by the French, and the war was between the English and French. Not Washington and the French. He was a young lower level British officer during the French and Indian war. He saw some action, had a horse shot out from under him, and when he went to Congress to become commander of American troops he cited his experience. The term "hero" is used wrong concerning Washington. Today, this term is used for many actions and people so its useage has changed since 1776 to today. Washington was considered a strong leader, he was admired for his political insights, and he was looked up to as a successful planter, businessman, and known for his whiskey.I don't think any colonist would have called him a "hero" as we do today. Frankly, the term is over used these days. Washington was a man of his time and the country needed him so he answered the call. He never really wanted to, but he saw the need. That is what makes him great.
