"This is a hell of a way to die." He died 21 December 1945 from injuries received in an automotive accident .
His own troops called him "Old Blood and Guts", but cheered him lustily when he passed by. It was a symbol of pride for any soldier to say after the war, "I fought with Patton!"
I would have to say George S. Patton I could name 1millian others but I am not sure who was most important.
10. Heinz Guderian 9. Isoroku Yamamoto 8. Gerd von Rundstedt 7. Erwin Rommel 6. Georgy K. Zhukov 5. Vasily I. Chuikov 4. Konstantin K. Rokossowsky 3. Walter Model 2. George S. Patton 1. Erich von Manstein
One would think a cbt vet wouldn't hunt anymore. But it appears that men that liked hunting before going off to war, returned to the sport after the war. Additionally, famous WWII US officers such as Admiral Mitchener, General Patton, and their staffs used to hunt off duty. WWII airmen in the European Theater of Operations used to say that , "...this is the best hunting in the world, Uncle Sam is paying for the hunting license, gave us a $30,000 airplane, free ammunition, free fuel, and he's PAYING US TO HUNT and theres no limit!" In fact, General Patton was killed in an auto accident while enroute to a pheasant hunt.
"War is hell."
General George S. Patton was about freedom. He hated the Nazi party, and wanted to declare war on the USSR. He was relieved of duty because of his comments, but died before returning to America in a car accident. Some say that he was killed by Russians, simply because he managed to live through years of war in Europe and died so ironically. I am one of those people. God Bless General George S. Patton!

I would say General Patton. He was famous for using tanks and moving fast in WW11.

Answer General George Patton visited some soldiers in the hospital on Sicily in 1943. When he found out that some of the soldiers were not physically wounded but only experiencing "shell shock", he became outraged and slapped one for being a coward. Some say there were two incidents of this. When this was reported in the press, it was not well received. General Eisenhower had to reprimand Gen. Patton and some say his command was taken away from him for this incident. There may have been more slapping incidents on the British or German sides but usually this was such a minor event in the light of the attrocities and tremendous loss in battle.

yes by not allowing patton to seize berlin we got the cold war with the soviets, also some of his decisions led to the battle of the bulge, patton knew this. yes patton may have been a loose cannon but he was simply a great warrior..and if he would have been allowed to do some of the things he wanted lots of americans wouldnt have died, like at the battle of the bulge but eisenhower snubbed almost every patton request. the one that makes people think patton had lost it was his desire to take the 3rd army and drive the russians back to moscow. could we have won?? some people say yes, some say no but patton was right about the russians. stalin was worse than sudaam hussein ever was. anyway dde made mistakes , for sure

No, that quote is attributed to George Patton, not Omar Bradley.Paton believed that the Soviet Union and communism in general was a bigger threat to the United states than the Nazis were.
I am not exactly sure some people say he did others say he didn't so it is a debatable question. #TeeHee#
