What religion did Jesus and his early disciples follow?

'Disciples' can follow ANYone.A 'disciple' is a taught one, a learner, a pupil. If you're speaking of Jesus' disciples, then it was JESUS that they followed. They were 'footstep followers' of Christ. When Jesus died, they followed what Jesus had taught them, as well as observing those who knew him best and patterned their lives after Jesus.(1 Corinthians 11:1).Then, as today, we have principles and laws, a clear record of Jesus' life, and the life of his apostles, as well as the Hebrew scriptures, outlining those who found favor with God and those who did not, so we can have a very good idea HOW to be loyal to God, and CONTINUE to be disciples of Jesus.

What is the propuse of a disciple?

All religions have disciples. A disciple is a follower of what ever religion they desire. Christian disciples follow Jesus Christ's teachings in the Bible. A disciple of Jesus has the responsibility to tell other people about Jesus Christ. In this way people can know what Jesus Christ did for the world and if called by God for salvation can respond to that call. Down through the centuries disciples of Christ have spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and many people now have eternal life. Christians believe that Jesus is "the way, the truth and the life" and that no one comes to the Father (God) except through Jesus ( John 14:6).

How would the disciples of Jesus live life today?

The same way the disciples lived in the 1st Century - character and moral wise that is. To be a 'disciple' is to be an 'imitator' of Jesus. With God's Holy Spirit guiding the repentant and baptized disciple, he/she would live a life putting God's Law first and foremost in their lives.
