Nat Turner had been a Southern slave in the antebellum days. He led a large slave revolt from the plantation he was working on. It was a bloody revolt and many lives were lost. Turner's revolt was ended by the Southern slave owners. He was killed over 25 years before the start of the US Civil War.

Turner was not alive in 1860. That was over a 100 years difference between the American Revolution and the civil war. Turner lived in the 1700's.
