Because he put Katherine of Aragon in a nunnery just because he was tired of her, then he cut off Anne Boleyn's head-that doesn't exactly win people's affection, he supposedly refused to see Jane while she was on her death bed, he annulled his marriage with Anne of Cleves just because she wasn't pretty enough for him, he cut off his 17 year old wife's head, and he was about to arrest Katherine Parr just because she liked to read books that actually interested her that were outlawed. Sounds kind of unreasonable, right? Oh, and he was a tyrant. Oh, and he treated his wives badly as you can.

People did not like Henry VIII because he wanted wealth. So he made huge taxes to get money off the people in England. Also people did not like him because he switched from Catholic to Protestant just to get a divorce from Catherine of Aragon

A good leader must think of the government first, must be responsible of his actions, must have a good reputation and serve the nation.

Henry VIII was quite the opposite. His policy in economy, religion and politics was based on his wishes and love affairs.
