Our ancestors had to chew sticks to clean their teeth, it was the only way to get the muck out of their teeth in Afica and it had been proven to get support health.While in East Asia ,poeple used cloves and in South Asia people used the steans of the neem tree as a toothpick,1.8 million years ago.Even today ,people use herbal remedies for cleaning teeth.

In acient Italy,they used their own unrine which had cleaning power but not a lovely smell. Some,used nothing but water which naturally had sourced minerals like flouride (only they did not know what floride was then)
