The Pawnee were essentially sedentary farmers, living on the eastern margins of the Great Plains. Twice each year they left their semi-permanent villages of earth lodges and travelled west to hunt buffalo, camping in small versions of the Plains tipi. These hunting expeditions were subject to very strict traditions and controlled by a warrior society acting as a kind of police force - this ensured that everyone had an equal chance of killing buffalo and obtaining meat.
The meat was mainly dried in the sun to preserve it for the winter months.
For a much more detailed description of the historic Pawnee lifestyle, including their farming and hunting traditions, I strongly recommend the book "The Lost Universe; Pawnee Life and Culture" by Gene Weltfish, University of Nebraska Press,
ISBN 0-8032-5871-2.

Today the Pawnee people eat what they want and can afford, just like everyone else. If you mean what was their diet in the past, they ate buffalo, corn, pumpkin, squash and beans.
Pawnee Indians typically eat berries and crops. However, they also tend to hunt their own meat. For example, they will use a bow and arrow and kill a deer for protein.
