No. you can not believe in someone you have never heard of. Modern Christians try to see numerous prophecies of Jesus in the Old Testament, but to do so they avoid reading the passages literally or in context.

ANSWER

Yes people believed in Christ before He Came. But you see you have to define the word "Christ". The word Christ is called Messiah in the Old Testament. The Jews were looking and are still looking for the Messiah. If you had ask if people believed in Jesus before He came I would have to say NO as no body knew who the Messiah would be except God. The coming of a Messiah was predicted many times in the Old Testament and many people believed in the Messiah or Christ.

However in the Bible the term "come before" means that Jesus had to stand before the Romans, that is, Pilate, for judgement as Pilate was the highest Roman official in the city and he was the only one who could pass a death sentence.

Where did Jesus live for 33 years before fighting the Romans?

Jesus never fought the Romans. The Romans crucified him, but he never fought back. Actually, the Jews of the time expected the Messiah to fight back at the Romans, who governed them, but Jesus surprised them by never doing so. Anyway, Jesus lived his life in ancient Israel, except for a trip to Tyre and Sidon and the legendary flight to Egypt in Matthew's infancy narrative.
