For public entertainment, there were movies, dances, community concerts, and organized sports. Families would listen to the radio, watch the one or two channels on television, or play cards and Board Games. Hunting and fishing were popular in rural areas. Sandlot Baseball and pick-up Basketball games were common. We could always read a book. One very popular activity for teens was "cruising" on Saturday night, just driving around town with a carload of friends and stopping to chat with other carloads.
