People didn't come to absolutely love Van Gogh's paintings until after his death. During his life time the only painting he ever sold was to his brother Theo.

Very beautiful works, I like his style. My favorite painting is Wheatfield with Crows. I also had the possibility to visit the Van Gogh's museum in Amsterdam and enjoyed it a lot.

Along with the emotional support, Theo was of great financial support to Vincent throughout his brief art career. Vincent only sold one of his paintings during his lifetime so Theo provided the money for his livelihood.
