Very much the same to what they wear now- fashion hasn't changed that much over the past 9 years. Pony-tails among young men were more popular back then than they are now, and some legacies of 'acid house' fashion still lingered on amongst teenagers (such as the kind of 'loose-fit' trousers and jackets that first came in around '89-ish_. There was also a brief fashion amongst girls around the turn of the Millennium, for short hair done up in lots of little tufts, tied with clips or elastic all over their heads- this was short-lived, and didn't last much beyond '02. Baseball caps were also a more popular fashion accessory in Europe in 2000 than they have since become- though they've always been popular in the USA.
