Take note that in the early 2000s (2000-03) fashion still carried on from the late 90s (1997-99), so from 1998-2002, people looked the same with just a few new twists (such as the low rise of jeans in the 00s). In 2002, women wore low rise bell bottoms (often 3-5 inches below the navel) and tight crop tops with Adidas sneakers. Men wore tracksuits (mostly from Adidas) with Adidas trainers and loose cargo pants with neutral colored shirts. Low top shoes were the most popular form of sneakers in 2002. Puffy jackets were popular winter wear along with ribbed turtlenecks. Women's hair was long and straight with highlights and a "natural" make-up look. Men wore their hair spiky like they did in the late 90s, but with even more highlights than they did a few years ago. By 2005, however, most of these fashions went out of style, and the new trends of 2005 led to the clothes are fashionable today in 2014.
