Puritans and Separatists
John Winthrop, governor of the Puritans, established the Massachusetts bay colony
Because they did not want the colonists taking their land.
Because they want to live in Massachusetts
Because they did not want the colonists taking their land.
The Native Americans were not treated well by Massachusetts. The Massachusetts colony wanted to trade but the Native Americans did not want to. It ended up in sharing of land wherein Massachusetts colony got the part close to other colonies and the Native Americans got the farthest parts of the land.
Their desire for independence and spirit of action is one of the reasons why Massachusetts was one of the first areas to become a state.
OK, either you want Massachusetts Bay or Virginia. Virginia was the first lasting colony founded in the New World with the settling of Jamestown in 1607.
they founded it for the freedom of religion.to create a colony for those who did not want to have to follow the church of England. in my opinion they also moved there to maybe start a movement that would indeed strike conflict with the ruling of England at the time and bring it to societies attention that not everybody had to follow the same religion.
The reason Connecticut was founded was to escape the government of Massachusetts Bay Colony because people thought that less power was to be given to the government and that all white men could participate in government(man that was a long sentence). Hope this helps. The founder was Thomas Hooker.
No. Actually is was supposed to be a save haven for Quakers. William Penn wanted freedom of religion.
