∙ 14y agoSurrealism is truly just as it sounds. Surreal. Salvidore Dali was an excellent surrealist, creating fantasy elements in his art as a clock dripping off an edge or grosly distorted facial proportions. It is based in fantasy. Cameron was here 12.57pm 13/7/09

∙ 15y agoI'm assuming by surrealist you mean artists that paint/draw in that style. Surrealist art means you are portraying something like it is in a dream. Surrealists also use alot of symbolism. For instance, Salvador Dali's painting Melting Clocks is thought to be symbolizing how the artists feels like time is melting away.
