Most Chinese just shrug it off. Some Chinese actually talked smack about them, using Chinese or one of the numerous Chinese dialects (Cantonese beats English in creative use of vulgarities). Some may just use English to reply in kind (Although it never works). The Chinese are a proud people. It offends them a lot and give them a negative impression of whites in general. Some Chinese will beat the living hell out of the white in question, especially if they are part of local gangs.
If White people are rude in China, you will find that the locals will be openly hostile towards them. They don't tolerate smack from the Ignorant White Visitors in their country.
